Boer's technical team: nearly two decades focused on asbestos-free mineral fibres
Abstract
Judging from verifiable public literature, Boer's technical work runs through a series of signed articles by general manager Wen Yi, covering raw materials, chemical composition, shot, surface modification, 3C&3D and friction/sealing applications, with company technicians also contributing to latex-sheeting research. Most articles appeared in the China Friction and Sealing Materials Association journal and were compiled in 2016 as the “Ten-Year Paper Collection”.
Unlike suppliers that publish only product promotion, Boer left a body of systematic technical text. The collection holds 17 articles spanning roughly 2006–2016, mainly by Wen Yi, with “A brief analysis of the latex-sheet wet-end system” by Guo Xiangrui, all attributed to Qing Yuan Boer Fibre Co., Ltd. Four research lines run through them: naming/standardisation; raw materials and composition; process and indicators (shot control, bio-solubility, interface treatment); and industry application to friction and sealing formulations.
Representative technical views: shot should be controlled on a 125µm (120-mesh) limit using the wet-sieve method (GB 5480.1); friction materials generally require shot <5% and sealing materials tighter (<1%); and 3C (biological dissolution index, acid-resistance index, water-resistance index) and 3D (dose, geometry, durability) explain the bio-solubility of man-made mineral fibre. The wet-process purification and surface treatment steps are Boer's proprietary process and are not disclosed; only front-end areas such as raw material preparation and melt-fibre formation are visitable.
To turn the “technical team” claim into a purchasable judgment: request the paper collection or journal originals and check author affiliation and dates; probe their understanding of industry standards and test definitions rather than sales talk; assess whether the team can support on-site mixing, formulation and failure analysis; and check that recent (2025/2026) reports, SDS and exhibition exchanges continue. The papers reflect 2006–2016 accumulation; current team size and R&D investment are not fully disclosed.
